FAQs

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a supportive, forward-focused process that helps you create change, gain clarity, and move through life more intentionally. If there’s an area or areas of your life you’re not satisfied with, or would like to change, life coaching helps you reconnect with your own inner wisdom, explore what’s holding you back, and take steps toward the changes you want to make.

My coaching interweaves various techniques, including counselling, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), hypnosis and guided imagery (among others) to creatively encourage a shift in your mindset that then leads to a shift in your circumstance.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a gentle technique that helps you access your subconscious mind—the part of you that holds deep beliefs, patterns, and emotional memories. I often describe hypnosis as a form of guided relaxation followed by a guided meditation. In a session, you’re guided into a relaxed, focused state (a bit like a daydream), where you can explore what's beneath the surface and start to shift what’s no longer serving you.

It’s important to remember that when you are in a hypnotic state, you remain conscious and aware the entire time. As with guided meditations and relaxations, there’s a possibility you’ll fall asleep. Fortunately, the subconscious mind still receives messages even when the conscious mind is asleep. Therefore, even if you drift off during a hypnosis, the session will still have its intended effect.

How do life coaching and hypnotherapy work together?

Life coaching and hypnotherapy go hand-in-hand. Coaching helps you explore where you are and where you want to go. Hypnotherapy helps you understand why you might feel stuck and how you might shift that at a deeper level. Used together, they offer both insight and real change, combining practical tools with subconscious healing for a more holistic approach.

Whilst the two methods work well together, I’ll only suggest using them both if they suit your particular needs and always with your full consent. For some clients, the structure and goal-oriented nature of coaching helps them reach their desired outcomes. For others, hypnotherapy is an important addition, especially when the blocks they’re facing are more deeply embedded.

What is past life regression?

Regression is a hypnotherapeutic technique that asks us to revisit events from the past, often to uncover insights stored in the subconscious that aren’t as accessible to the conscious mind. A common form is ‘age’ regression, where a client is guided back to a key memory from childhood or adolescence.

Past life regression (PLR) is similar, but it takes you further back, to experiences that may feel like they come from another lifetime. Whether you interpret these experiences literally or as symbolic stories from the subconscious, they can offer powerful insight, emotional release, and healing. As with hypnosis, you remain fully aware, and I’ll ask you to describe what your are experiencing so I can take notes for you to revisit later. Many clients also opt to audio-record their PLRs, so they don’t need to remember every detail.

My approach to PLR takes place over two sessions. In the first, we explore what you’d like to learn from the process and carry out an initial regression to familiarise you with the experience. In the second, I’ll guide you through the past life regression itself, allowing time to visit more than one lifetime if desired and space to process your insights after.

Do I need to believe in past lives for PLR to work?

Not at all. Many people approach PLR with curiosity rather than certainty. To me, it doesn’t matter whether you see the experience as metaphor, memory, or something in between, what matters is how it makes you feel and what it reveals about your current life.

In my experience — both as a practitioner and client — the past lives that emerge are often rich in symbolism and offer meaningful lessons related to our present-day challenges. Whether those lives are “real” becomes less important when you feel the benefit of what they reveal.

Will I lose control during hypnotherapy?

No — you’re always in control. Hypnosis isn’t about being unconscious or unaware. Rather, it’s a relaxed, focused state where you can still think, hear, and choose. You can stop or pause at any time, and I’ll clearly explain how to signal if you’d like to end the session.

Most people feel calm, safe, and fully present during the experience. After hypnosis, many clients describe a stillness in the air, which mirrors how I feel as a practitioner, too.

Is this work right for me?

If you feel something is holding you back from living authentically — if you are feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or stuck in old patterns — you don’t have to go through it alone. This work is for people ready to explore what’s going on underneath the surface, reconnect with their intuition, and move forward with more clarity and ease.

If you’re still unsure, feel free to get in touch. Book a free initial consultation or send me an email. We can take it from there.

What will I need for an online session?

Just a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable and won’t be disturbed. Headphones can help with sound quality, and are especially useful for hypnosis. You may also want a cosy spot to sit or lie down, particularly during hypnotherapy or regression sessions.

How many sessions will I need?

It really depends on what you’re working through and how you process change. Some people find a single session helpful, while others benefit from ongoing support over time. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. There’s no pressure or one-size-fits-all model here.

That said, many people experience meaningful change in 4-6 life coaching and/or hypnotherapy weekly or fortnightly sessions. The past life regression as a stand alone service consists of two 90-minute sessions.

Will our sessions be confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is essential to this work. Everything you share stays between us. This is your space to speak freely, without judgment or concern.

The only exception would be if there were a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, in which case I’m ethically and legally required to take appropriate action. Outside of that, everything remains private, respected, and held with care.

If we happen to see each other out in the world, I’ll pretend I don’t know you — unless you choose to approach me. This is simply to protect your privacy and ensure that that I never reveal the role I play in your life unless you want me to.
